Front entrance |
Upon entering Magnolia
Walkers thru the private gate, you are
greeted by our home directly in front of
you. Off to your right you will be greeted
by all the mares and their babies, as they
run up to the fence lining the driveway, to
check out who is visiting.
|
 |
Our horse farm sits on
200 plus acres of prime coastal pasture land
in Cherokee County, Texas.
|
 |
Dotting the landscape you
will find 100 yr. old magnolia
trees. Planted all around the house
are hundreds of multi-colored azalea
bushes which when blooming in spring
is a magnificent sight. |
|
| Many azalea
bushes surround our barn as well.
To your left you will observe
a huge coastal hay meadow where all
the broodmares spend most of their
lives, belly deep in rich, lush,
well-fertilized grass. |
 |
|
 |
The stallion barn
consists of six large stalls, complete with
ceiling fans, automatic waterers, and
sliding windows in each. This all metal
barn was constructed to self-ventilate,
allowing fresh air to circulate constantly.
An automatic spray system was added
throughout the barn, each stall and main
thoroughfare to eliminate flies, mosquitoes,
spiders and other bothersome insects.
|
 |
The stalls are cleaned
twice daily. All beddings being replaced
with fresh, clean and dry wood chips. All
feed is stored up off the floor to ensure
it's freshness. Soft music is piped
throughout the barn day and night which I
believe comforts the horses.
|
 |
A large tack room houses
all saddles, bridles, blankets, etc., which
is also temperature regulated. The large 4
bay equipment shed houses the tractors,
rake, bailers and all farming equipment.
|
 |
| The
"nursery" which can be observed to your right as
you enter the farm. |
 |
|
Hooked-up, loading up, ready to
go! |

Large meadows of lush coastal
grass keeps our horses in bloom. |
Five round pens and two
paddocks are used for on the ground
training. This allows us to work multiple
horses with no distraction.
|
 |
The all electric
automatic walker is a valuable tool to
exercise some horses while others are being
trained in the pens. We run the babies into
the paddocks before feeding time where much
time and care is taken to handle them. They
seem to look forward to this imprinting time
with us.

Well-fenced, safe and
secure meadows allow the babies to run, play
and develop. The grass is rich in protein
and there is lots of it.
|
 |
Just riding the fence
lines provides the family and guests very
pleasant and scenic trail rides.
